Back in 2019, The Capture kicked off it's first ever series with Holliday Grainger at the helm investigating the Homicide and Serious Crime, in the role of DI Rachel Carey. A memorable case, saw fans introduced to a soldier named Shaun who was alleged to be a criminal of war but was then acquitted of offences in Afghanistan.
Her case involved an alleged war criminal, Shaun, played by Callum Turner, who is acquitted of offences in Afghanistan. Despite attempting to re-build a new life in the UK, Shaun finds himself at the centre of a serious crime when his defence barrister mysteriously disappears.
Rachel uncovers that various tech based evidence and CCTV footage has been manipulated, leaving Shaun pondering over what is real and what is not.
With terror related crimes at the forefront for the new series, with Rachel caught in an :increasingly violent situation with few allies to trust", it promises to be a series like no other as she draws into an unfolding geopolitical crisis that infects the British political establishment.
Speaking on reprising her role Holliday Grainger said: "I'm thrilled to be joining The Capture team once more for series three. Ben Chanan’s scripts are as electrifying as ever and I'm excited to be stepping back into 'Commander' Rachel Carey's world. (Spoiler alert!)"
New cast member, Killian Scott commented: "I think Ben has created something really special with The Capture, a modern espionage thriller that feels both authentic and immensely captivating. I feel incredibly lucky to be joining the team for season 3."
